Former Chanute Star Receives NFL Mini Camp Invite

 

A former Southeast Kansas football star has signed with the Denver Broncos for an NFL Mini Camp invite.

 

Former Chanute Blue Comet and Kansas State Wildcat Ty Bowman will be fighting for a spot on an NFL roster, after reaching an agreement with Denver to attend mini camp next month.

 

Bowman is a former high school quarterback who moved to wide receiver, when he chose to attend Kansas State as a preferred walk-on. Bowman became a key role player for the Wildcats and starred on special teams in his senior season.

 

Bowman brings impressive size to the field at 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, and he finished his college career with 44 games played and 770 snaps. The Chanute native was first team all-state his senioir season, throwing for 1,289 yards and 17 touchdowns, while also running for 890 yards and 13 touchdowns.
