Oklahoma Wesleyan baseball has capped off an incredible regular season by clinching the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference title, after beating Ottawa University 18-16 on Saturday.

 

The Eagles had to play from behind most of the day, trailing 5-0 after three innings, and 7-2 through five innings. OKWU would score five in the sixth, eight in the seventh, and three in the eighth to earn the come from behind victory.

 

With the win, the Eagles finish the regular season with a 43-7 record, and a 30-6 conference mark. The team earns the top seed for the conference tournament, and receives an automatic bid to the regional rounds of the NAIA postseason.

 

Oklahoma Wesleyan gets conference tournament play started on Wednesday, when they battle Avila University at Joe Becker Stadium in Joplin, Missouri. First pitch is scheduled for 6:45 p.m.
