A star football player at Missouri State University has tragically passed away over the weekend.
Senior safety Todric McGee died early Saturday following a wellness check from local police, in what police believe was a "possible accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound."
KY3 Springfield's Charmelle O'Dell has more on the tragic passing of a talented athlete.
McGee was a two-year starter for the Bears football team, earning All-Missouri Valley honors in 2023. Missouri State athletic director Patrick Ransdell says "This tragedy has shaken our football program to the core, and we want them to know we are here to support them in every way possible at this extremely difficult time."
McGee's death is still under investigation.
