Field Kindley baseball improves to .500 with a double header sweep of Columbus 3-2 and 16-6.
Game one picked up at the top of the third inning. The game started on Thursday April 3rd, but due to rain was suspened. The Nado scored two runs back on April 3rd and came into the game yesterday up 2-0. Hadyn Main was on the mound for Coffeyville with his best outing of the season pitching 5 2/3 innings only giving up one earned run. Jack Vilela took the mound for Columbus and despite the struggles on April 3rd came out firing in the resumed game striking out 11. Columbus scored their first run of the game in the bottom of the third and then tied things up with a Kash Smith sac fly in the bottom of the sixth. Riley Robson would ground into a double play in the top of the seventh but Jaxin Hershey scored on the play giving Coffeyville the go ahead score. Robson would pick up the win pitching the finaly 1 1/3 for the Nado.
Game two was a much different story on the mound for Columbus. Titans pitchers struggled to find the strike zone walking 13 Nado hitters. Seven of those walks came from Starter Ben Major in just 1 1/3. The Nado took a 12-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth. Columbus avoided the run in the top of the fifth scoring five runs to cut the Nado lead to seven. The Nado would finish the run rule in the bottom of the fifth as Columbus walked in the game ending run. Jaxin Hershey pitched four inning for the Nado only allowing one run.
The Nado improve to 5-5 and take on Pittsburg on Tuesday.
