Jayhawks Alum to be Inducted to Kansas Sports Hall of Fame

Five athletes and coaches with affiliations to the Kansas Jayhawks will be a part of this year's Kansas Sports Hall of Fame induction class.

Mark Mangino was selected as an inductee last year, but was unable to attend the ceremony. He will be honored this year, after serving as Jayhawk head football coach from 2002-09, winning 50 games and four bowl games.

Laverne Smith is a former state champion in the 100-yard dash and set Jayhawk records for career rushing yards, touchdowns, and 100-yard games. Smith played football and ran track while at KU.

Clifford Wiley was a member of the 1980 US Olympic Team, and was a 13-time All-American while at Kansas, including an NCAA Champion in the 4x400 Relay.

Tim Jankovich may be more known for his playing career at Kansas State, but also spent time as an assistant coach with the Jayhawks.

Bobby Randall also played baseball at KSU and had a 12-year professional career, but also served as the Jayhawks head baseball coach from 1996-2002.
