A rare baseball achievement was accomplished in San Antonio last night, as the Royals Double-A affiliate Northwest Arkansas Naturals tossed a combined no-hitter in a 3-0 win over the San Antonio Missions.

 

It is the fourth no-hitter in team history, as Ryan Ramsey, Chazz Martinez, Ryan Brady, and Brandon Johnson were the four arms to team up for the nine innings. Voice of the Naturals Shawn Murnin had the call of the final out.

 

It was the first start in Double-A for Ramsey in his career, where he went the first 5.2 innings of the night. Martinez would get the next four outs, before Brady and Johnson pitched the eighth and ninth, respectively.

 

The no-hitter is the first for the team since Brooks Pounders no-hit the Midland Rockhounds in June of 2013. Notable Royals pitchers have also been a part of Naturals no-hitter, with Greg Holland helping combine for a no-no in 2012, and Will Smith and Kelvin Herrera pairing up for history in 2011.
