Following one of the most successful seasons in program history that saw an NCAA Tournament run to the Elite Eight, Kansas State women's basketball has one of their leaders drafted in the WNBA draft.
Point guard Serena Sundell was selected with the first pick of the third round last night by the Seattle Storm.
Sundell is one of the most intriguing players in the draft class, with strong size at 6-foot-2 and also having experience as a true point guard and as a wing and combo guard. ESPNs Andraya Carter says Sundell is a great fit for Seattle.
Sundell becomes the ninth player in school history to be selected in the WNBA draft, and the first since Breanna Lewis in the 2018 season. Seattle finished fifth in the WNBA last season with a record of 25-15.
