Field Kindley baseball falls in a close one 4-2 against rival Independence.
Jaxin Hershey got the start for the Nado and Kamen Sprague for Independence. Both pitchers got off to good starts with a scoreless first inning which would set the tone for a pitchers dual. Independence struck first in the second inning with one run off a Logan Sprague ground out scoring Kellen Lanning. In the bottom of the inning Coffeyville would tie things back up as Cooper Sprague would steal third and a throwing error to third base would allow him to score on the play.
Hershey's day would come to an end after 3 2/3 and with Indy threatening Haydn Main would get Coffeyville out of the inning. The Nado would take the 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth off a bases loaded single by Stephen Goff. The Bulldogs would add one in each of the fifth, sixth and seventh innings securing them the win. Indy's Kamen Sprague went seven innings struck out 11 and only allowed one earned run while going 3/3 with an intentional walk.
Coffeyville is on the road today taking on Pittsburg and then back at home on Thursday finishing game a rained delayed game against Columbus and then their regular scheduled game against the Titans.
