The Kansas City Royals salvage the series finale with the Cleveland Guardians, earning a 4-2 win behind a dominant start from Cole Ragans.
Salvador Perez hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning, and Maikel Garcia delivered a two-run double in the fifth that proved to be the game winning hit. Ragans went into the eighth inning, allowing two runs and striking out ten. He becomes the second pitcher in franchise history to strike out 10 or more in three consecutive starts.
Manager Matt Quatraro says the left hander was absolutely electric.
Ragans would exit in the eighth inning due to hamstring tightness, but it isn't expected to be a serious concern. Quatraro says it was an important win for the whole ball club.
Kansas City is 8-8 on the season, and travel to New York to battle the Yankees in an ALDS rematch. Coverage begins tonight at 6 p.m. CT on the Mighty 690 KGGF.
