An area high school softball player reached a major milestone this week.

 

Avery Johnson of Frontenac tallied her 500th career strikeout for the Raiders, to help the team earn a doubleheader sweep over Pittsburg-St. Mary's Colgan. The Raiders remain unbeaten thus far this season, off to a 6-0 start to the year.

 

Johnson is a multiple time all-state selection, and has helped her team to 3A state titles in both 2022 and 2024, looking for her third this season.

 

Johnson is committed to NEO to continue her softball career at the next level.
