The Royals won each of the first two games, behind solid starts from Michael Lorenzen and Cole Ragans. Kansas City has the top ranked starting pitching in the American League through two weeks.
Minnesota would win the third game, but Kansas City bounced back to win the series finale 3-2. Manager Matt Quatraro says it was a hard fought series win.
Jonathan India had an RBI single in the 7th inning to tie the game, before Bobby Witt Jr gave them the lead on a sacrifice fly. India says he battled to deliver for his new team.
Kansas City has had a lockdown bullpen to go along with strong starting pitching. Quatraro says it takes every pitcher on the roster to be successful.
The Royals travel to Cleveland to begin a series with the Guardians. Coverage of the series opener begins this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. CT on Sonshine 98.9 KQQF.
