A familiar face to Coffeyville Community College and the Jayhawk Conference is back, being named the new head volleyball coach at Labette Community College.
Deardin Kelley served as an assistant coach at Labette for two years, before spending two seasons as the head coach at Coffeyville. Kelley spent the past fall as the head coach at Division 2 William Jewell in Missouri.
Kelley says she is eager to be back in an environment she knows.
Kelley won 48 games in her two seasons in Coffeyville, establishing herself as one of the top young JUCO coaches in the state of Kansas. She says she's learned to be more relaxed with more experience.
The KJCCC is stacked with championship caliber programs such as Cowley, Johnson County, KCK, and Fort Scott. Kelley says she's looking for players that will embrace the challenge.
Kelley replaces Haley Cook, who spent seven seasons as the Cardinals head coach.
