The longest active losing streak in college baseball was snapped, with a Division 3 school ending a 100-game skid with a win on Tuesday night.
Yeshiva University in New York City, an Orthodox Jewish school in upper Manhattan, had dropped 100 straight games dating back to February of 2022.
The Maccabees faced the Lehman Lightning in a Tuesday doubleheader, with Lehman College entering the game on a 42-game losing streak of their own. Lehman won the first game, 7-6 in extra innings, to snap their skid first.
Game 2, however, favored Yeshiva, who held on for a 9-5 win to earn their first ever win over Lehman, and their first win in over three years. Only two players on the Maccabees roster were on the field for the last team win.
Yeshiva's Noah Steinmetz closed out the victory, and is the younger brother of Diamondbacks top prospect Jacob Steinmetz.
