Royals Win Playoff Rematch with Orioles

 

The Kansas City Royals defended home field, winning two of three against the Baltimore Orioles in a Wild Card Series rematch.

 

Kansas City got the series started on the right foot with an 8-2 win on Friday. Vinnie Pasquantino drove in three runs, while Seth Lugo pitched six innings and allowed just one earned run.

 

Baltimore bounced back with an 8-1 win on Saturday, as Michael Wacha struggled, allowing four runs in 5.2 innings. Bobby Witt Jr hit his first home run of the season in the loss.

 

The boys in blue won the rubber match with a 4-1 victory, as Kris Bubic improves to 2-0 on the season. Michael Massey and Pasquantino both drove in runs, while the trio of Hunter Harvey, Lucas Erceg, and Carlos Estevez combined to finish the job.

 

Kansas City is 4-5 on the season, and begins a series tonight with the Minnesota Twins, with Michael Lorenzen battling Simeon Woods-Richardson.
