DeSalme Leaving Bartlesvillle After One Season

A notable Kansas junior college coach is leaving Bartlesville High School after one season, to pursue a return to the JUCO ranks.

Former BHS basketball star Tommy DeSalme has stepped down as the Bruins head coach following one season, in which Bartlesville won three games with mostly freshmen and newcomers.

Bartlesville Athletic Director Thad Dilbeck says DeSalme was a great leader for the program.

It will be the third head coaching search for the Bruins in the past three seasons, a new development for a school that only had three head coaches since 2001. Dilbeck says the process of searching has already begun.

The next Bruins coach will have talent to work with, as BHS only graduates one senior in Nash Zervas. Dilbeck says he expects there to be plenty of interest.

KGGF will have more on this story as further details become available.
