An incoming Kansas Jayhawk basketball player put on a show earlier this week, being named co-MVP in the McDonald's All-American Game in Brooklyn, New York.
Guard Darryn Peterson had 18 points and led the West team to a 105-92 victory over the East squad. Peterson is the 52nd Jayhawk commit to play in the game, and finished 7-for-14 shooting with seven rebounds and three steals.
Peterson says he's already been getting help from Jayhawks coach Bill Self.
Peterson is from Canton, Ohio, but played last season for Prolific Prep in Napa, California. He says he's eager to get to Lawrence and make an impact.
Peterson and Prolific Prep will be in action tonight in the Chipotle National Showcase, playing Long Island Lutheran, who are led by Syracuse commit Kiyan Anthony, son of NBA legend Carmelo Anthony.
