An unfortunate ending to the Red Raven basketball season, which saw both teams miss out on the National Tournament, may soon be a different story.

 

The National Junior College Athletic Association will be meeting on April 14th with the Board of Regents Committee and Council to discuss potential changes in future seasons. One of the potential new business items includes a discussion to expand the National Tournament to 32 teams.

 

Both the Coffeyville men and women finished outside of the 24-team playoff following Region VI Tournament losses.

 

Additional items being discussed are a motion to permanently remove dunking during pre-game or halftime warmups, increasing the D1 rankings poll to 30 teams, and every Region using the same media time-out format.
