One of the most rare and most difficult feats in sports was accomplished yesterday in Chautauqua County.

 

Cedar Vale/Dexter pitcher Jake Voegele pitched a perfect game in the Spartans' win over Flinthills. Voegele struck out 14 batters in the victory, and also helped throw a combined no-hitter earlier this season against West Elk, in which he struck out 18 hitters.

 

Voegele has been one of the best strikeout artists in the state thus far this season, striking out 32 hitters in 11.1 innings pitched for the Spartans and head coach Luke Wachter.

 

The Spartans have used dominant pitching to race to a 4-0 start this season, and will host the Udall Eagles on April 10th.
