It's a new beginning across Major League Baseball, as the Kansas City Royals kick off the 2025 season at Kauffman Stadium.

 

Kansas City opens the season against the reigning AL Central Division champion Cleveland Guardians, a high-profile matchup in a division that could see four postseason contenders this season.

 

Two of the top pitchers in baseball go head to head this afternoon, with Cleveland ace Tanner Bibee opposing Royals star Cole Ragans. Ragans says it's a unique feeling to get the season started.

 

This is the third time Cleveland and Kansas City have met on Opening Day in the past six seasons. The Royals won the season series 8-5 in 2024.
