Red Raven softball split a home doubleheader with the Connors State Cowgirls, improving to 5-13 on the season.
The Cowgirls held on to win the opener 6-5, despite a late rally for the Red Ravens with two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth. Coffeyville players Raya Eilert, Teagan Titus, Katelynn Siess, and Breanna Banks all had multiple hits in the loss.
The Lady Ravens were able to bounce back in the second game of the doubleheader, winning 15-7. Coffeyville had the bats working early, scoring four in the first, one in the third, two in the fourth, four in the fifth, and four in the sixth. Freshman Kaylee Henderson had three hits and six runs batted in, including her fourth home run of the season.
Coffevyille will return to action this afternoon, as they host the Cloud County Thunderbirds in doubleheader action. The first game gets underway at 1 p.m. CT with Game 2 around 3 p.m., from Byers Field.
