Nado Drop Game One to Baxter Springs

Field Kindley baseball starts the season 0-1 after a 13-1 loss to Baxter Springs.

The Lions got things started quickly in the first inning as they scored seven of their eight runs in the inning before recording an out. Hayden Main got the start for the Nado but was pulled with the bases loaded and no outs for Riley Robson, who was able to get out of the inning. Coffeyville would get one run back in the bottom of the first after four straight walks by Baxter Springs.

After nine runs were scored combined in the first inning, both teams were held scoeless through the second third and fourth innings. Baxter Springs would get their bats going again in the top of the fifth scoring five runs and putting the run rule in play. The Nado needed three runs to keep the game alive but Lions pitching shut them down ending the game in the fifth.

Coffeyville is back in action on Thursday on the road at Labette County.
