Jayhawks Season Comes to End

A tournament run was not in the cards this year for the Kansas Jayhawks, who have their season come to an end in the opening round with a 79-72 loss to Arkansas.

The Jayhawks were led by Zeke Mayo's 18 points, while AJ Storr had one of his best games of the season, contributing 15 off the bench. KU led 67-64 with three minutes to go, but Arkansas would end the game on a 15-5 run.

Head Coach Bill Self says despite the result, he's proud of the effort.

It was a mostly underwhelming season for KU, who finished outside of the Top 5 in the Big 12 conference, and just a No. 7 seed in the NCAA tournament. Self says the program needs to look in the mirror for answers.

The Jayhawks finish the season 21-13, and lose key pieces in Hunter Dickinson, Mayo, DeJuan Harris, and KJ Adams.
