Royals Top Prospect Sent Down after Impressive Spring

Despite an incredible effort this spring to make the Opening Day roster, the Royals top prospect has been sent back to minor league camp and will begin 2025 in Double-A.

Jac Caglianone hit three homers and had an OPS nearing 1.900 on the spring, also showing improvements defensively and cutting down on strikeout rate.

The first baseman will look to continue momentum as he will begin the season with the Double-A Northwest Arkansas Naturals. The potential to be promoted to Triple-A Omaha, and eventually Kansas City, depends on the production and success the 22-year old continues to have.

Caglianone is the No. 22 prospect in all of baseball, and the top in the KC organization. He is expected by man to make his Major League debut at some point in 2025, just a year after being drafted out of the University of Florida.
