KJCCC Reveal Season Awards

 

The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference has announced the major league awards and all-conference teams following the men's and women's region tournament.

 

Hailey Jackson of Hutchinson is the Player of the Year on the women's side, with Ashley Singhateh of Butler winning Freshman of the Year, Ari Gordon of Seward County and Shorna Preston of Dodge City splitting Defensive Player of they Year, and Dodge City head coach Landon Steele winning Coach of the Year.

 

Guards Norika Welch and Karys Washington of the Lady Ravens were named first-team all-conference, while freshman point guard Karliey Parker was named second-team all-league.

 

On the men's side, Marcus Whitlock Jr of Cowley wins Player of the Year, with Cowley coach Donnie Jackson earning Coach of the Year. Colby's Eternity Eguagie is the Freshman of the Year, and Butler's Emeka Opurum is the Defensive Player of the Year.

 

Coffeyville's Brian Griffith was named first-team all-conference, while Rashid Kuta, Daniel Ntambwe, and Trenton Ruth were named second-team all-league. Justin Taylor was honorable mention.
