The Jayhawk conference will see a change in head coach at Butler, after Brice Vignery announced his resignation following three seasons as coach, and more than 17 years with the program.
Vignery was named head coach at Butler in December of 2021, and had a 20-13 overall record, winning the Heart of Texas Bowl in the 2022 season, and helping the Grizzlies to a co-conference championship with Hutchinson and Coffeyville in 2024. He coached seven NJCAA All-Americans and over 60 All-Jayhawk conference picks.
He also played at Butler in 2006-07, winning two Region VI titles and the 2007 national championship. He served as assistant receiver coach, running back coach, and offensive coordinator in his time before becoming head coach.
Vignery will be taking a position on Lance Leipold's staff with the Kansas Jayhawks. Butler defensive coordinator Kyle Woodall will serve as interim head coach until the search for a new head coach is completed.
