Red Raven softball is embracing a fresh start for the program, displaying impressive performances and solid young pieces so far this season.

 

The Ravens are 4-8 through the first month of the season, with impressive wins over Dodge City, NEO, and Connors State College. The team also has narrow defeats, with a 12-8 loss to Dodge, 4-3 loss to Eastern Oklahoma State, and 12-11 loss to NEO.

 

Head Coach Ashton Friend says the youth of the team is working on game composure.

 

Coffeyville will play their first home doubleheader of the season this week, looking to defend Byers Field. Friend says the approach shifts slightly when playing on the home field.

 

The Ravens have done a nice job of having productive offensive innings late in games so far this season. Friend says it's a mentality at the plate to wear a pitcher out.

 

CCC hosts Southwestern JV this afternoon, with games at both 2 and 4 p.m. this afternoon.
