An incredible season for Pittsburg State women's basketball remains on go, as the team wins their second consecutive MIAA Tournament Championship.

 

The top-seeded Gorillas opened the game on a 9-0 run against Fort Hays State, and never looked back on their way to an 81-73 title game victory.

 

Grace Pyle led the team with 23 points, while Karenna Gerber added 19 points and six rebounds. Gerber was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.

 

PSU improves to 29-3 on the season, and ties the single season program record for victories. They also claimed an automatic berth to the Division II National Tournament for the second straight year, and will host a regional in the tournament.

 

The team is next in action on Friday evening against Harding, with tip off at 5 p.m. CT.
