A season to remember for Neodesha Blue Streak boys basketball comes to an end in the sub-state playoffs.
The team dropped their first round game to the Frontenac Raiders 71-48, and finish the season with a 12-7 overall record. It was one of the most successful seasons in recent memory for the program, winning 12 games, beating rival Fredonia at home, and hosting a playoff game for the first time in more than five seasons.
First year Head Coach Mitchell Pietz finishes his first season with plenty of positivies to take away. He says the objective now is to continue building into future seasons.
Senior leadership goes a long way for any high school basketball team, but especially one with a new head coach. Pietz says the seniors on this team set the standard moving forward.
The Neodesha girls are still alive in the playoffs, and will battle No. 11 seed Frontenac on Friday night in Columbus, the program's fourth consecutive sub-state championship appearance.
