The West Elk Patriots take the court for the second round of sub-state playoff action, taking on the Cherokee Southeast Lancers.
The Patriots took care of business in the opening round, defeating the Herington Railroaders 57-44 to improve to 12-10 on the season. The Lancers enter the matchup with 15 wins on the year, and are the No. 2 seed in the bracket.
West Elk Head Coach Dave Miller says the Lancers are a tough and talented team.
The Patriots have played strong defense all season long, and hope to create a physical battle with a slower tempo. Miller says the key will be who does a better job inside.
The Lancers and Patriots tip off tonight at 6 p.m.
