School history has been made in Independence, with girls wrestling sending four athletes to state, the most in program history.

 

Sophomore Addison Augustine was the highest finishing wrestler, placing third at the Regional Tournament in Paola. She will be joined by teammates Payten Minick, Callie Anne Fairbank, and Taylor Melugin at the State Tournament.

 

The team finished 16th in Regionals, out of 32 total participants. The state meet will be held from February 28th to March 1st at the Tony's Pizza Event Center in Salina.
