The Red Ravens endured a snowy Saturday trip to Cowley County, where the teams left with a doubleheader split against the Cowley Tigers.
The Lady Ravens win their 10th consecutive game, and improve to 20-3 on the season, with an 82-74 win over the Tigers. Coffeyville shot 59% from the field on the afternoon, and were led by Norika Welch's 23 points. Karys Washington had 18, Alexis Parker finished with 11 points and seven rebounds, and Camree Johnson had seven points in her first game back from injury.
Head Coach Tony Turner says the squad did a great job of handling the important moments.
The men suffer their third consecutive defeat, falling to Cowley 82-60 in the second game of the doubleheader. Justin Taylor returned from injury to lead the Ravens with 12 points, while Trenton Ruth posted 11 as well. The dynamic duo of Sharmarrie Hugie and Marcus Whitlock combined for 39 points in the win for the Tigers.
Taylor says it's crucial for the team to not lose focus.
Both teams have a very quick turnaround, with a rescheduled Monday afternoon game against Cloud County before returning to Nellis Hall to play Butler on Wednesday.
