A former Royal is returning to the organization to help the club reach the top of the baseball world.
Former manager Ned Yost is rejoining the team as a Senior Advisor to General Manager J.J. Picollo. Yost says he quickly learned the emotions felt by people outside of the game.
Yost served as the club's skipper from 2010 to 2019 and is the all-time leader in managerial wins in franchise history, with 746 total victories. He says he knows he can help the current roster improve.
Yost was elected to the Royals Hall of Fame in 2023, and was the man in charge when the team won the 2014 AL pennant and the 2015 World Series championship. He also set a Major League record with a 71% win rate in the postseason, the highest ever for any manager with 20 games experience.
