The Fredonia Yellow Jackets continue to play their best basketball at home this season, racing away from the Cherryvale Chargers in a 76-43 win.
Fredonia opened the game shooting the ball well, with seniors Emmit Couch and Elias Barnett leading the scoring charge. Cherryvale would go on a late first half run to cut the deficit to seven, but Fredonia led 43-32 at the break.
In the second half, the pressure defense of the Yellow Jackets matched with the interior scoring and offensive rebounding allowed Fredonia to pull away from their league rivals. Fredonia had five players in double figures, while Cherryvale was led by junior Landon Fox, who finished with 23 points.
The next High School Basketball Game of the Week will be on February 18th, when the West Elk Patriots host the Sedan Blue Devils in Howard.
