Field Kindley basketball splits their Homecoming matchup with Labette County, with the girls falling 47-45 and the boys winning 48-36.
The Lady Nado got out to a strong start pushing the game to as much as a 13 point lead in the first quarter and would lead by 10 at the half. Labette battled back in the second half outscoring the Lady Nado 39-17 lead by Landry O'Brien, who scored 14 of her 20 in the half. Erin Lopez led Coffeyville in scoring with 15 and Brooklyn White added 12.
In between the girl's and boy's game, Kevin Magna was named Homecoming King and White was named Queen.
The Nado jumped out to a 11-3 lead in the first before Labette would close the gap outscoring Coffeyville 16-12 in the second quarter. A strong third quarter would see the Nado extend their lead to 9 and then push it to as much as 15 in the fourth quarter. Nine players scored for Coffeyville with Carter Herring leading the Nado with 12 and Jake Horner adding 10.
Coffeyville is back in action on Friday as they host Pittsburg for their second matchup this season. Lady Nado fall to 9-4 on the season and 5-1 in league play and the boys improve to 8-5 with a 4-2 record in the SEK League.
