The Red Ravens enter their weekend bye eager to rest and recover, but also focused on their upcoming opponent.
The teams will be back in action on Wednesday night at Nellis Hall when the rival Hutchinson Blue Dragons come to town. Hutchinson and Coffeyville both are in the Top 5 in the KJCCC standings on both the men's and women's side of the conference.
The Lady Ravens will be looking for revenge after falling short against the Dragons in Round 1. Assistant Coach Zariah Sango says you have to keep the emotions under control in a game like this.
After a slow start, the Lady Ravens outscored the Blue Dragons by nine points in the second half. Sophomore forward Alexis Parker says the key will be focusing on the little things.
The men's matchup features a Raven team looking to sweep the regular season series, against a Hutchinson team looking to climb into the Top 4 and contend for a home quarterfinal playoff game. Head Coach Jay Herkelman says the Dragons are a talented team with plenty of depth.
The game with Hutchinson will also be the 1000th game of Herkelman's career.
