The Kansas Jayhawks are preparing for a bounceback season on the football field, and focusing on local talent to do so.
KU is targeting the top high school football players in the state of Kansas for the Class of 2026, with the team already receiving commitments from five of the top 11 recruits.
The Jayhawks have landed edge rusher Hunter Higgins of Wichita, defensive back JJ Dunigan of Manhattan, athlete Josh Galbreath of Lawrence, wide receiver Nate Sims of Ottawa, and quarterback Jaylen Mason of Wichita.
Kansas endured schedules last season resulting in a 5-7 record, and will aim to climb back towards the top of the Big 12 conference.
