The Kansas State Wildcats picked up their first win of 2025 in convincing fashion, defeating the West Virginia Mountaineers 73-60 in Manhattan.
The Wildcats had previously dropped six consecutive games, and jumped out to a 19-2 lead at the start of the game. Head Coach Jerome Tang says the team was aggressive from the jump.
KSU shot 53% from the field in the first half, and led by as much as 26 before the intermission. Despite WVU outscoring the Wildcats 42-31 in the second half, it proved to be too large a deficit to rally from.
Tang says this is an important step in the team gaining confidence.
The Wildcats host Oklahoma State tomorrow night, before traveling to Iowa State this weekend.
