The Cherryvale Chargers girls basketball team are the champions of the War on 54 Tournament.
Cherryvale was able to complete a 3-0 week to claim the title, defeating Anderson County, Humboldt, and Iola.
The team showcased impressive offensive depth, with a different player scoring 20+ points in each game. Tatum Marchant had 27 points in the win over Anderson County, Kadynce Forman scored 21 to help defeat Humboldt, and Harmony John had 21 in the championship game against Iola.
The Chargers are having another successful season under coach Kelsey Overacker, sitting at the top of the Tri-Valley League with fellow contenders Caney, Neodesha, and Eureka. Cherryvale battles Neodesha in league play tonight.
