The Caney Valley Lady Pups win the Ramona tournament tonight after a 38-35 victory over the Dewey Lady Bulldoggers.
Tournament MVP Elyn Washburn led Caney with sixteen points and Sarah Martinez added ten, as the Lady Pups improve to 10-0 on the season.
Martinez, Alex Theiss and Molleigh Kaminska were named to the all-tournament team.
In the nightcap, the Liberty Tigers defeated the Bullpups 57-54 to in their third Ramona championship in a row.
The Bullpups started slow, but used strong 2nd and 4th quarters to make it a close contest. Caney outscored Liberty 26-8 in the 4th quarter and had a chance to tie it at the buzzer, but the shot rimmed to the left.
Payton Darden had sixteen for the Bullpups; Ben Matthews had 14 and Colt Hightower added 13.
Hightower, Darden, and Layne Denny were named to the all-tournament team.
After the loss, the men are 7-3 on the season.
Caney takes on Eureka Tuesday night in doubleheader action.
