A sophomore wrestler at Columbus High School put together an impressive weekend at the Basehor Linwood Bobcat Classic.
Mason O'Banion was able to win the 175-pound class, which featured the No. 4 ranked wrestler in 4A in Lennox Vann of Fort Scott, and the runner-up in 5A from last year, Demarus Partee of Pittsburg.
O'Banion is 16-1 in his sophomore season, and was able to beat Vann 7-2 in the championship match.
The performance also earned Mason the Southeast Kansas Performance of the Week, awarded by Sports in Kansas. Mason and the Titans host a home tri-meet on Thursday with Iola and Fort Scott.
