Ravens Split with Cougars in Great Bend

Coffeyville had mixed feelings after a Saturday doubleheader in Great Bend.

The Lady Ravens were able to overcome a nine point halftime deficit to beat the Barton Cougars in overtime, 71-69. Aubrey Hishaw had the game winning score with five seconds left.

Head Coach Tony Turner says the team did a great job of sticking together.

CCC improves to 14-3, with a 9-3 league record, and are two games back of first place. Despite big wins over Dodge and Barton, and four upcoming home games, Turner says the team can't take their foot off the gas.

The men struggled with turnovers, committing 23 in a 75-64 loss to Barton. Assistant Coach Jordan Bailey says Barton is one of the toughest teams they've seen so far.

Trent Ruth scored 19 points, but the duo of Brian Griffith and Justin Taylor combined for just five points. The men fall to 14-4, and are 10-2 in league play, one game behind Cowley for first place. Ruth says he's confident the team will bounce back quickly.

The Ravens have four of their next five games at home, beginning with a Thursday night doubleheader with Fort Hays Tech.
