Seven is the Lucky Number as Lady Nado Keep Win Streak Alive

Field Kindley girls basketball makes it seven in a row knocking off the number seven team in 4A with a 48-41 victory over Fort Scott.

A matchup everyone had circled this week as two teams competing for an SEK League title and were undefeated in league play squared off. The game lived up to its expectations as the first half was back and forth with Coffeyville up 12-10 after the first quarter and 19-16 at the half.

Fort Scott found themselves in the lead about halfway through the third quarter 26-25, when Kaylin Caron would hit a three sparking a Coffeyville run. The Lady Nado would extend their lead to a game high 12 points. Coffeyville would go cold in the fourth quarter offensively missing their last fifteen shots, but good defense and clutch free throws would keep them in the lead and helped secure the victory. Kaylin finished with a game high 17. Taiylor Caron added 11 points and Erin Lopez finished with 8. Brooklyn White added 7 points and over 20 rebounds.

The Lady Nado have now won seven in a row to improve to 7-2 on the season and 5-0 in league play. That win snapped a 17 game losing streak to Fort Scott with the last win coming in 2016 and was the first home win against the Tigers since 2015.  They open the Ralph Miller Classic in Chanute on Thursday with a matchup against Goddard Eisenhower at 3:00pm on Sonshine 98.9 KQQF.
