Bullpups Looking to Extend Winning Streaks Against Iola

The Caney Valley Bullpups return home tonight looking to continue their winning ways, as Iola comes to town for a doubleheader basketball matchup.

The Lady Pups look to remain undefeated after a 6-0 start; they are sitting at 13th in the Kansas Division 3A Rankings and third in the Tri-Valley. Caney is averaging 57 PPG, thanks in part to great low post play from Sarah Martinez, Molleigh Kaminska and Ameris King-Dunn. The offense is effectively run by senior Myra Denny and freshmen Elyn Washburn, and seniors Gracie Eden and Addison Regis are playing big defensively so far this season.

For the guys, they have won four straight, including a huge 79-44 win at Erie. The Pups are 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the Tri-Valley. Depth is a huge strength for the team, with ten players getting significant minutes on the court. The Pups are averaging just over 67 PPG. Layne Denny, Colt Hightower and Braydon Messner effectively run the point, while big men Ben Matthews, Payton Darden and James Kistler have clogged up the lanes defensively.

Pregame starts around 5:50 with the girls game beginning at 6:00 on Greatest Hits 104.1.
