Fort Hays Senior Becomes All-Time Leading Scorer

A Fort Hays State basketball player has broken the school's all-time scoring record.

Senior Kaleb Hammeke reached the milestone with his 12th point of the win over Emporia State last night, and now has 1,767 points for his career. Hammeke passes Alonzo Goldston, who had held the school record since 1997.

Hammeke is from Hutchinson, Kansas, and spent his high school career at Trinity Catholic. He is a two-time All-District Second Team honoree, a two-time All-Conference First Team, and the 2020-21 Conference Freshman of the Year. He has played 126 total games at Fort Hays State, averaging 14 points per game for his career.

The Tigers are 10-4 on the season, and 3-2 in conference play. They will take the court again next Thursday against Missouri Western.
