The Caney Valley Bullpups sweep the Nowata Ironmen in high school basketball acrtion last night in Caney; the boys won 64-54 and the girls took home a 68-26 victory.

 Elyn Washburn led the Lady Pups with 17 points and Sarah Martinez added 14. Molleigh Kaminska had another solid performace with ten points and ten rebounds. The Lady Pups had eighteen steals on the night which led to some easy transition baskets. They improve to 5-0 on the season.

 For the men, Colt Hightower led all scorers with 18, but had limited playing time in the second half due to a possible injury. Payton Darden added 12 and Traxcyn Garton had eleven for the Pups, who improve to 3-2 on the season.

 For Nowata, Talon Thompson had 14 points, while Chelo Prince had 12 and Clint Hurrington added ten. The Ironmen press defense was effective for much of the fourth quarter, and while they got within three points at one point, they weren't able to close the gap completely.

 Caney travels to Riverton for doubleheader basketball on Friday; pregame starts at 5:50 on Greatest Hits 104.1.
