Former CCC, KState Coach to National College Basketball Hall of Fame

A coaching legend that experienced great success at both Coffeyville Community College and Kansas State University is one of the eight inductees to the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame.

Jack Hartman is the lone coach in the induction class of 2024, and is the sixth person affiliated with Kansas State to be inducted.

Hartman spent eight seasons as head coach at CCC from 1955-62, winning the NJCAA national championship in 1962 with a perfect 32-0 season. He also spent 16 seasons at Kansas State, and is the school's all time winningest coach, winning 295 games, three Big Eight titles, and nine postseason appearances.

Red Raven Coach Jay Herkelman says this is a special honor for the school and community.

Hartman has had an impact on numerous basketball legends in his career, working with Walt Frazier at Southern Illinois, and Rolando Blackman, Ed Nealy, and Lon Kruger at KSU, among others.

He was a native of Dewey, Oklahoma, and was a two-sport star at Oklahoma State, including a brief professional football career in the Canadien Football League. Hartman passed away in 1998 at the age of 73.
