After a 9-2 non-conference slate, the Kansas Jayhawks open Big 12 play hosting the West Virginia Moutaineers at Allen Fieldhouse.
KU has won six of the last seven games against WVU, and has won 33 consecutive conference openers dating back to 1991. The last time Kansas lost a league opener was against Oklahoma on January 8th, 1991.
The Jayhawks are led by experience in both the backcourt and down low, with Hunter Dickinson, Dajuan Harris Jr, and Zeke Mayo all averaging double figures for Bill Self.
West Virginia is led by first year head coach Darian DeVries, who had six consecutive 20-win seasons at Drake, and has led the Mountaineers to a 9-2 start to the season. WVU is led by senior guard Javon Small, who averages 20 points per game. The Mountaineers will be playing shorthanded, as star senior Tucker DeVries is out indefinitely with an injury.
Coverage of Kansas-West Virginia begins tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. CT, with tipoff at 1 on Greatest Hits 104.1 FM.
