More information is available on the ankle injury to Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

 

Mahomes has been diagnosed with a high ankle sprain, which the team is referring to as a "pretty minor sprain", compared to other high ankle sprains.

 

Mahomes exited in the fourth quarter of the win over the Cleveland Browns after being rolled up on following a throw. He is considered week-to-week with three games remaining until the playoffs.

 

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter says there may be other factors than the injury that contribute to a decision on Mahomes.

 

Kansas City takes on the Houston Texans on Saturday afternoon, before a short week to prepare for the Steelers on Christmas Day.
