Ravens Split Doubleheader with Cloud County

There were mixed results for the Red Ravens at Nellis Hall, with the teams splitting a doubleheader with the Cloud County Thunderbirds.

The Lady Ravens got off to a slow start, trailing by 19 points after the opening quarter, and couldn't bounce back in an 81-55 loss. Head Coach Tony Turner says Cloud was better prepared than the Ravens.

Coffeyville was led by Karys Washington, who had 12 points and 10 rebounds, but the team struggled mightily with turnovers, committing 22 giveaways on the night. Turner says the team must improve before Saturday's game.

The men remain unbeaten in league play, using a big first half to edge the Thunderbirds 84-68. Relja Nagulic had 20 points off the bench, and freshman Kaason Thomas had 15 points on five made three-pointers. Assistant Coach Braeden Proctor says the team's depth is impressive.

The Ravens will square off with Cowley on Saturday, in a matchup of two of the final three undefeated teams in the conference. Proctor says the Tigers are just as good as they're hyped up to be.

Coverage of Cowley-Coffeyville begins Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT on US 98 and the Red Raven Sports Network.
