High school basketball is just days away in Southeast Kansas, and the Neodesha Lady Streaks are looking for another strong season.
Neodesha won 15 games a season ago, including a seven-game winning streak entering the postseason, before falling to Cheney in the playoffs. The team is led by experienced upperclassmen, including seniors Prayer Roebuck, Samantha Stover, and Darcie Dyke, and juniors Alivia Morrison and Kimmy Combs.
Head Coach Justin Pierce says Roebuck is a special kind of athlete.
With so much experience in the backcourt, the Lady Streaks have options at the point guard position with how to run their offense. Pierce says that's an advantage that most other teams don't have.
Neodesha opens their season on the road against Fredonia on Friday night.
